Annabel Allum has released her haunting new track, ‘Eat Greens’, taken from her forthcoming EP, set to be released this summer. The Guildford-based singer-songwriter is still working on her reinvention, transiting from folk roots to fuzzier horizons. A process that is gradually shaping her image into a snarling and sarcastic interpreter of the indie scene here in the UK.
The follow-up to ‘Rich Backgrounds’ is this ‘Eat Greens’, a song that the artist herself describes as “about the conflict of doing what you feel is right and what you think is wrong. Doing what you want as opposed to doing what you need. Finding balance, searching for balance, what is balance? Self-destruction and self-love. Vegetables.”
Annabel, who played critically acclaimed sets at SXSW in March, will be taking in the UK’s premiere new music festivals in Live at Leeds and The Great Escape over the coming months. Listen to ‘Eat Greens’, produced by Adrian Hall (Goldfrapp, Du Blonde, Anna Calvi) and out now via Killing Moon Records.
