Wirral-born Charlie Straw is a brilliant artist whose music sits in between folk and blues, influenced by a wide range of artists that include Justin Vernon and Jeff Buckley, right through Etta James. His latest offering, ‘All I Know’, is now accompanied by a compelling video, produced by Webb Street Studios and directed by Charlie himself. Wet sand on a beach, the seaside and beautiful, empty landscapes and close-ups on the artist create the storytelling.
Slowly built atmospheres and imaginative lyrics are showcased in a track that has a main objective, to connect with an audience in a way that turns to be both intimate and epic. Delicate vocals emerge from a soundscape that reminds me to the early Bon Iver as well as Ben Howard.
