London’s own Tusks, aka Emily Underhill, has just announced the release of her debut album, created alongside longtime co-producer Brett Cox, altogether with a new single, the title-track ‘Dissolve’.
The new track sounds like an after-midnight ballad, that showcases Tusks’ velvety voice, paired with dreamy guitars that draw comparisons to the likes of some dusty early 90’s shoegaze and post-rock à la Explosions In The Sky. The sum of influences makes it to a climax and creates a cinematic soundscape. Says the artist about the new track and album: “I’m a very visual person, I love being outdoors and surrounded by nature. I grew up by the sea and I’ve always tried to spend as much time outside and travel as much as possible – I think perhaps subconsciously that all influences how cinematic some of my music can be and why I love creating the artwork to go with it.”
‘Dissolve’ will be out on October 13th via One Little Indian. Meantime, listen to its beautiful title-track, below here.
