I have a thing for Polo and their somehow revolutionary, geeky synth pop. The three-piece is finally back, a few months after the release of their debut EP, ‘Alice’. ‘Zeitgeist’, their new cut, marks an imaginative return, bringing to life the notion of “that particular, unquantifiable energy that categorises a specific place and time.”

The Leeds trio, comprised of Luke Lount, Kat McHugh and Daniel Edgell, finds itself adding elements to their signature sound, and exploring new soundscapes that pair now with an even deeper lyrical approach to their fresh style. “The song is based around one night. – explains singer Kat McHugh – It was Halloween and I was hired as an actress in a club. On this night I was introduced to my boss and we had an instant connection. We sacked work off and went out, and ended up having one of the best nights of my life”. Bandmate Luke Lount also says: “It’s about someone throwing you off track; you not knowing exactly what will become of the situation, but just going with what happens in the moment.”

Listen to ‘Zeitgeist’, and catch Polo live on their UK tour kicking off in a few days. The band will touch base in London, back at Birthdays on September 16th, where they supported Otzeki exactly a year ago.
