Tyne and Wear’s outfit The Cornshed Sisters have just shared a new number off their forthcoming album, ‘Honey & Tar’, due out via Memphis Industries on November 3rd. ‘Running’, the latest offering, follows up to last July’s ‘The Message’, and keeps filling us with anticipation for a full-length expected to be as tasty as their debut album, 2012’s ‘Tell Tales’.
The single – produced like the rest of the album by Peter Brewis – is a melodic rock-soaked journey, written and sung by Marie Nixon. She stated it’s “a song about anxiety”, one of the most debated topics in songwriting throughout the last year at least. The Cornshed Sisters will embark a tour this Autumn, with a date in London, at Thousand Island (formerly known as Upstairs at The Garage) is Islington, on December 7th.
