It’s been a year of changes, that 2017 we just put in the drawer, for West London’s indie rockers The Vaccines. A new drummer (Yoann Intonti, who replaced Pete Robertson) and a touring keyboardist (Tim Lanham) now stable in the lineup, and the announcement of some new material. Hello 2018, then, and welcome back to one of the bands who made a name for themselves starting from 2010, when the debut ‘What Did You Expect from The Vaccines?’ was released. ‘I Can’t Quit’, the brand new single, works as an anticipation for a new record, ‘Combat Sports’, set to be released this March, and finds a place amongst those joyful and infectious tunes that will surely stand out at any party and during the festival season.
“You can’t change me, can you?”, sings vocalist Justin Hayward-Young, in a slice of perfectly crafted guitar indie pop that vanishes in less than three minutes. Press play, then repeat.
