Guildford-based Annabel Allum has released her first number of 2018, as a follow-up to last year’s EP ‘All That For What’. ‘Beat the Birds’ is a track that unfolds sharp guitars soaked in a slacker rock atmosphere, marking a new step forward for an artist who has been reinventing herself in the recent past.

“I wrote Beat the Birds during a heightened temerarious period of my life. – Annabel says – Riding on moments and not consequences, feeling and not thinking. The story of youthful, reckless abandon, morning after morning after morning”. Her storytelling soaked in compelling soundscapes contributed to the praise for an artist who will be back on the road this spring, when she play her biggest headline show to date (at London’s Camden Assembly on February 6th), right before taking in once again the bright lights of Austin for SXSW 2018.
