Leeds trio Polo are back with their first new material since 2018’s ‘Louder Than Words’. ‘On My End’, the brand new single, marks the much-awaited re-start for the outfit comprised of Luke Lount, Kat McHugh and Daniel Edgell, active in the past couple of year with a critically acclaimed EP, ‘Alice’ (read more here).

The band worked on their signature sound, expanding their sonic palette and exploring new lyrical territories. The new track is an infectious new chapter, that brings to our ears a refined synth pop soundscape that perfectly frames Kat’s pristine vocals. “I feel ‘On My End’ really captures my attitude to a lot of things a lot of the time – she explains – It’s basically me putting my fingers in my ears to all the external nags and pressures to do things a certain way“. Band-mates Lount and Edgell add: “It’s one of the rare occasions where the first idea was the only idea. This resulted in a song that is uniquely Polo, yet still shines as a personal achievement for all of us. The riff, chords and percussion were written on the first ever session and remained unchanged throughout the process. We worked fast, didn’t second guess ourselves and I think you can hear this in the track.”

Polo will embark a UK tour this month, starting from Manchester on the 23rd. Check the dates and listen to ‘On My End’ below.
